Best Landscapers in Frisco
As we head into April the weather will begin getting hotter and working outdoors will start slowing down. So, now is the time to get going as far as an outdoor plan. You can still do some minor pruning now so take a good look at your trees and look for dead branches; get them pruned off at this time. If you see sap running you may want to apply a healing compound and seal the area affected and we do that to protect it from insects. If you have trees staked I would remove them because it is ‘babying’ the tree; it needs to sway naturally, without that the trees’ trunks will be weakened, so in my own opinion (and some with differ from me) I would remove any stake from any tree. Planting trees at this time is acceptable however if you wait until late April you may likely put that tree in jeopardy of dying, so if you do plan on planting any trees later than April 15th I would hold off until November.
Iron deficiencies can show up on alkaline soils, fertilizers can still be applied mainly on most Pines and Oak Trees. You can pound in fertilizer spikes especially on older Trees, it equals nutrients which most Old Trees seek, but do not wait too long time is running out. If you have plans on fertilizing topically with Miracle-Gro the fertilizer you hook up to a hose, ensure you go behind that watering everything you just applied off any leaves, the intense sunlight can burn leaves. As far as your Perennials some have finished blooming, I have a little secret for you, give that plant a nice haircut pruning off all prior blooms and you just might get a second bloom. This is most noted on Phlox and Candy turfs my two favorite flowers. Mine keeps on blooming as I de-head and prune off old blooms. Keep a very close eye on your Perennials insects will now be playing a part of their survival. If you see a Powdery Mildew you have an issue, most noted on Ornamental plants then anything. Caterpillars and Beatles are the two responsible for Mildews. If you see any Insect damage then my recommendation is to spray a Bacterial soap or a Fungus Control Aid. You may also begin to see another issue with a gray mold (Botrytis) will attack the leaves on most flowers due to a wet weather pattern that can cause the tissue to brown and rot with a gray, fuzzy growth, apply soap and wash the plant off when done using rubber gloves to do the work.
Main Street Lawn Care and Landscaping
Frisco, TX 75033

Changing a chemically treated lawn to an organic lawn is a transition on the road to good soil health. During the initial transition, you should see very little change in the appearance of your lawns. If your lawn is already green and healthy, expect more of the same. Although you may see some weeds, just as you would in a chemically treated lawn, you can be confident that organic practices are working to naturally eliminate weeds and that we will employ safe and organic weed control products like corn gluten meal “CGM” and various natural oils to help prevent and treat those weeds through the transition period. – mainstreetlawncare.com
